Lingual braces

A well-hidden treatment choice

Lingual braces are among the most discreet orthodontic options available. Although they use the same bracket and archwire technology as conventional braces, they sit on the back surface of your teeth, so no one needs to know you are receiving treatment.

How do lingual braces work?

Lingual braces are attached to the inside of your teeth, and each bracket is personalised to achieve the best results for your exact smile. Although these braces are hidden, they work in much the same way as traditional braces - using gentle pressure to guide teeth into position.

As lingual braces sit close to your tongue, it may take some time for your mouth to adjust to them. You may have trouble speaking properly for three to four days, but after that, there shouldn’t be any noticeable difference to your speech.

How long do lingual braces take?

Each case is different, but generally, you can expect treatment with lingual braces to take anywhere from 12 to 24 months.

Who are lingual braces for?

Anyone might be a good fit for our lingual braces. But our adult patients tend to favour lingual braces when they require a well-hidden orthodontic treatment option.
